Heart Brain Coherence Meditation (20mins)

Heart-brain coherence meditation is a practice that aligns the rhythms of the heart and brain, harmonising emotional and mental states. This technique blends ancient wisdom with modern science, showing how synchronised heart-brain signals can lead to a gamma brain state—where the mind operates at peak performance with heightened intuition, learning capacity, and clarity.

Achieving heart-brain coherence can bring profound benefits, such as reduced stress, improved mood, and enhanced focus. By cultivating positive emotions like gratitude or compassion and aligning our breathing with heart awareness, we can shift our body into a state of balance that supports mental clarity and physical health. This simple practice can be easily integrated into daily life, unlocking greater resilience, emotional stability, and overall well-being.

Box Breathing Meditation (3.5 mins) – Lesson Starter

This is guided box breathing meditation leads students through 10 calming breaths. The practise connects body, mind, and breath to help shift the nervous system from a reactive state to a relaxed, focused, and ready-to-learn mindset.

The box breathing method is widely used by elite athletes to enhance performance and by medical patients for pain management. It helps students reduce anxiety, sharpen focus, and can even boost academic performance. Research shows that regular practice calms the nervous system, leading to better concentration and stress resilience. (Very Well Health, 2024)
